How do you interview a childhood hero? That was my challenge in 1990 when writing an article on Jim Brown for Men’s Health magazine. The story was “Fitness After Football,” and it focused on several retired pro players. In Brown’s case, it had been some 25 years since the Hall of Famer left the gridiron for a Hollywood career.
